“She hit me!” “He started it.” It starts early in life….the blame game. Children don’t have to be taught how to sin or how to place blame. But, where did it all start? Adam and Eve? “That woman you gave me told me to eat the fruit.”
We are a slow people. Look at the mess we have made of this world. It all started with a beautiful garden and got off track because humans can be so easily distracted and divided. At what point does the blame game stop?
One scroll through social media will show more blame than all the little children fighting on a playground. Division and distraction mixed with extreme discouragement are all tools of the enemy. The battle being raged right now started in the spiritual realm and has just spilled into the physical. Sadly, we are trying to win a spiritual battle with word feuds and blaming.
Never in my lifetime have I seen the level of division that we have today. Families are fighting within themselves over masks, shots, and which politician is the least evil. Social media posts screech of anger, bitterness, and hostility. No one is right. Everyone is right. The left. The right. The confused. We want to fight back. We want to blame the other side. We want to fight with typed words. It’s our nature.
“Put on the full armor of God, so you can take a stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms….And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” Ephesians 6:11-12, 18
We have got to get smarter than Adam and Eve! Quit blaming the politicians, the folks that voted for them, the masked, the unmasked, the vaxed, the unvaxed. Let’s recognize that the fight is spiritual, for the very souls of those arguing. Ask yourself the hard questions. Do I have any unrepented sin in my own life? Not my neighbors’ sins, but my own. Am I putting my job, ambition, spouse, child before God? Have I personally humbled myself before God? Am I seeking God’s hand instead of God’s face?
When we ask those questions of ourselves and work on those, we will have little time for the blame game. Only when we seek God and battle in the spiritual realm, will we see the change that our nation needs.
Are we praying as much as we are blaming each other? Let’s pray for a revival within our own lives, within our nation, and around the world. Let’s pray that we will become a nation that respects God and His Word. Only then, we will see the unity that we are all desperate to experience.

Beth, That was an outstanding article…After reading it, I had to go to my Prayer Closet and ask God to forgive me for blaming so much on others and not asking God to be in total control of us and our Nation..It is so easy to say a quick Prayer and your heart is really not in it, but when you let God answer the prayer in his time you will see and feel the Fruits of your Labor..According to the word of God, Our time is getting shorter in this world and God is trying to get us all ready and is allowing all these things to happen..We need to remember that God is going to have his way…Amen
